Punxsutawney Phil has seen his shadow, implying we're in for 6 more weeks of winter. Phil has seen his own shadow 108 times since his first prediction in 1887. Unfortunately, Phil's predictions have been right only about 39% of the time, according to the Stormfax Weather Almanac. In fact, Phil is a worse meteorologist than if you flipped a coin, which would be right 50% of the time. For better, predictions, check out Staten Island Chuck, who lives in New York’s Staten Island Zoo. Staten Island Chuck has been 85% accurate according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Additionally, Ad Astra is rebranding as “citizen journal” to harmonize our brand with our app. The “Ad Astra citizen journal”, our flagship daily national news summary, will become “US citizen journal”. The original “Ad Astra” newsletter, which includes columns and #motivationmonday, will become just “citizen journal”.
