#motivationmonday 115

Lise Meitner, an Austrian physicist who overcame significant barriers as a woman in early-20th century science, discovered nuclear fission but was controversially omitted from the 1944 Nobel Prize, which went to her collaborator Otto Hahn. She fled Nazi persecution to Sweden and was later honored with element 109, meitnerium, named after her.
