Marie Curie, pioneering physicist and chemist, discovered radioactive elements polonium and radium with her husband Pierre. She became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize (Physics, 1903) and the first person to win a second (Chemistry, 1911). Her notebooks remain radioactive today, stored in lead-lined boxes.
