After his presidency, Jimmy Carter devoted himself to humanitarian work, founding the Carter Center, working on global health initiatives and working extensively with Habitat for Humanity. Often seen wielding hammers and power tools well into his 90s, he helped build thousands of homes. His philanthropy earned him the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize.
