Football
Bullpups fall to rival Buhler 21-28
Bullpups (8) play Abilene (9) on Friday Nov. 1 @ McPherson in first knockout round of postseason
Volleyball
McPherson High School's volleyball team claimed victory at the KSHSAA Class 4A Sub-State Tournament in Andale, securing their spot in the State Championship. As the 6th seed, the Bullpups overcame Wellington with a comeback in the semifinals, finishing 10-25, 25-15, and 25-22. In the finals, they defeated the #3 seed and host team, Andale, in straight sets, 25-23 and 25-22. The 4A State Tournament will be held at Hutchinson Sports Arena, starting Friday with morning and afternoon sessions, leading up to the finals on Saturday morning.
Cross Country
4A Regional at Buhler - McPherson’s cross-country teams showed strong performances, with both boys and girls teams qualifying for State. The girls took 2nd place in the team standings, while the boys finished in 2nd as well.
Top finishers included Lexi Patterson (21:00.80) and Eva Ramey (21:08.40) for the girls, while Caleb Muehler (16:29.20) and Ethan Elder (16:38.60) led the boys.
Girls Team Standings: 1. Buhler 21, 2. McPherson 42, 3. Wellington 65
Boys Team Standings: 1. Buhler 32, 2. McPherson 53, 3. Andale 90
Soccer
The McPherson Boys Soccer team advanced in the regionals with a 1-0 victory over Buhler on October 29, after a previous win in their last regular season game against Great Bend (4-2) on October 24. The Bullpups are set to face Wichita Trinity Academy in the Regional Championship tonight, October 31, with hopes of securing a spot in the State tournament.
