The McPherson High School girls' soccer team improved to 10-4 on the season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over rival Buhler on Tuesday. Senior Ellie Bower provided the game's only goal, finding the back of the net off a well-placed assist from Grace Prescott. The Bullpups' offense generated seven shots on goal throughout the contest, but it was their defensive performance that truly shined. Goalkeeper Ellie Herrera stood tall between the posts, making five saves to preserve the shutout as the McPherson defense maintained their disciplined positioning from start to finish.

The victory marks another chapter in the storied rivalry between the two programs. The Bullpups' backline was outstanding throughout the match, consistently neutralizing Buhler's attacking efforts and limiting their scoring opportunities. "It was particularly encouraging to see the girls manage a slim lead towards the end of the game and close it out effectively," noted the coach Chris Adrian. Adding to the special atmosphere was MCFC night, with all the youth soccer teams in attendance. "I want to thank all the MCFC players, coaches, and families for coming out to support us tonight," coach Adrian added. McPherson will look to build on this momentum when they return to action on Thursday for their next home game.
