Bullpups split games vs rival Buhler
Girls lose 20-60, boys beat Buhler 80-46, Gabe Pyle scores 44

Girls
The McPherson Bullpups girls' basketball team faced a challenging night at Jim Baker Field House, falling to the Buhler Crusaders 60-20 in a game that showcased Buhler's defensive prowess. Playing shorthanded without key contributors Maryn Sandbo and Rylie Whitfield, the Bullpups struggled to find their offensive rhythm against Buhler's relentless pressure, which forced numerous turnovers and limited McPherson to just six first-quarter points. Despite Brooke Doile's determined effort in the paint, where she led the Bullpups with eight points and multiple hustle plays, Buhler's dynamic duo of Gracie Ord (16 points) and Natalia Crafull (12 points) powered the Crusaders to a commanding lead that triggered a running clock in the fourth quarter. The loss marked Buhler's second victory over McPherson this season, a rare feat in the rivalry's history, as the Bullpups look to regroup with a busy stretch of league matchups ahead.
Boys
Gabe Pyle put on a shooting clinic as McPherson dominated rival Buhler 80-46 at Jim Baker Fieldhouse on Friday night. Pyle erupted for 44 points, including an incredible 11 three-pointers, leading the Bullpups to their sixth straight league victory. After McPherson jumped out to an early 11-0 lead, Buhler briefly fought back with three-pointers from Jacob Miller and Mitchell McDaniel, but the Bullpups' relentless defensive pressure and transition game proved too much. Jett Pyle added 15 points and Ian Razak contributed solid interior play before fouling out, helping McPherson improve to 13-2 overall and 6-0 in league play. The game reached running-clock territory in the fourth quarter, and Gabe Pyle's memorable performance earned him a standing ovation from both fan bases when he exited the game. The loss dropped Buhler to 5-10 overall and 0-6 in league play under first-year head coach Eric Tademy.
