Bullpups split games vs Andover
Girls lose 19-68, boys win 62-44

Girls
The Andover Trojans delivered a commanding performance, defeating the McPherson Bullpups 68–19 in a lopsided girls’ basketball matchup. From the outset, Andover's suffocating defense and dominant rebounding set the tone, forcing turnovers and limiting McPherson to just seven shot attempts in the first quarter. Andover capitalized on second-chance opportunities and showcased balanced scoring, including multiple three-pointers, to build a 24–6 lead by the end of the first quarter. McPherson struggled to generate consistent offense, facing relentless defensive pressure and shooting just 23% for the game. By halftime, Andover extended their lead to 42–11, effectively putting the game out of reach. The second half saw more of the same, with Andover’s depth and efficient shooting, coupled with McPherson’s ongoing turnover issues, allowing the Trojans to maintain their lead. McPherson was led in scoring by Brooke Doile who finishes with 6 points. The Trojans, now 2–0 on the season, demonstrated why they are considered strong contenders in 5A, while McPherson, falling to 1–2, will look to regroup as they begin league play against Buhler next Tuesday.
Boys
The McPherson Bullpups delivered a strong performance, defeating the Andover Trojans 62–44 in boys’ basketball on Friday night at the Roundhouse. After a slow first quarter, McPherson trailed 15–10 but rallied with an 18–7 second-quarter run to take a 28–22 halftime lead. The Bullpups maintained their momentum in the second half, led by a stellar 21-point effort from Gabe Pyle and 16 points from his cousin, Jett Pyle. Key contributions from Ian Razak, Ashton Malm, and Bishop Brown bolstered the team’s balanced attack. Defensively, McPherson’s intensity forced turnovers and limited Andover’s offensive rhythm, holding the Trojans’ standout Josh Kim to sporadic scoring. A dominant third quarter stretched the lead to 45–33, and the Bullpups never looked back, closing the game with efficient ball movement and timely free throws. With the win, McPherson improves to 2–1 on the season and looks ahead to next week’s rivalry matchup against Buhler.
