DERBY, Kan. — The McPherson High School Bullpups golf team secured a strong third-place finish at the AVCTL Division 3 League Tournament held Monday at Derby Country Club, posting a team score of 343. Sophomore standout Cole Cooper delivered a masterful performance, capturing the individual championship with a 4-over-par 76 that showcased his emerging talent and composure against the league's top competitors.
The Bullpups demonstrated solid team depth behind Cooper's championship effort, with Lawson Edigar tying for 13th place with an 86, while Paxton Ingles (T-21st), Teigan Younger (T-24th), Hudson Krehbiel (28th), and Kameron Buckbee (T-29th) rounded out the McPherson scorecard. The team now turns its focus to the upcoming regional tournament, where the Bullpups will enjoy home-course advantage at Turkey Creek Golf Course on Monday, May 19, with aspirations of qualifying for the state championships.
