Two splash pads open for season, one in the works
May 14, 2025

Summer is hereāor at least Mother Nature is paving the way and in response to temperatures in the 80s and 90s, the Fairgrounds splash pad, 2101 N. Severance St. and the Rice Park splash pad, 2112 N. Hendricks St. are open. While Hutchinson sports three such recreational parks, the Avenue A, 100 S. Main St. splash pad is in need of a replacement part that is being ordered, but will be fixed soon, according to city officials.
Each of the splash pads are free to utilize, and are open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day throughout the summer months. The Fairgrounds Splash Pad closes prior to the Kansas State Fair in early September. Avenue A and Rice Park will close for the season on Sept. 26.
