Sheriffs Department confirms investigation into USD 309

On May 13, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the Reno County Sheriff’s Office had asked for its assistance in an investigation involving Nickerson USD 309 students and/or staff.
“This matter remains an active investigation and no arrests have been made at this time,” said the sheriff’s office in a statement. “Once the investigation is complete, all findings will be presented to the appropriate charging authority for formal review and consideration of any potential charges.”
The sheriff’s office does not intend to release any other information. It wants to preserve the integrity of the investigation and protect the rights of everyone involved.
