June 4, 2025

Alex Mustow belted two home runs and the Hutchinson Monarchs scored seven runs in the eighth inning to rally past the Derby Twins 8-5 Monday night at Hobart-Detter Field.
The comeback kept the Monarchs unbeaten at 3-0 on the young season, while Derby dropped to 1-2.
Trailing 5-2 entering the bottom of the eighth, Hutchinson began its rally when Mustow hammered a two-run shot to center field, cutting the deficit to 5-3. Jaxon Herrmann and Jace Spafford followed with clutch RBI singles to tie the game and give Hutchinson the lead.
Dane Bugner added an RBI triple and Blake Bradford capped the rally with a two-run single to complete the seven-run outburst.
Mustow opened the scoring with a solo homer in the second inning before delivering the key blow in the eighth with his second long ball of the night.
Derby had built a 5-1 lead behind timely hitting and three runs off wild pitches. The Twins got an RBI triple from Jake Lindahl and run-scoring singles from Cooper Richards and Nick Allison.
Aiden Sowers earned the win in relief for Hutchinson, while Mitchell Johnson recorded the save in the ninth inning. Ryan Koob took the loss for Derby after surrendering the go-ahead runs in the eighth.
