Measles confirmed in Reno County
May 12, 2025

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Reno County Health Department confirmed a case of the measles in a Reno County resident on May 10. While the case is being monitored, no further patient information can be released in order to protect patient privacy.
Officials have stated that the case is not associated with any of the other U.S. measles outbreaks nor a community transmission as an outbreak requires three or more related cases.
In this case, possible exposure is limited to the Hutchinson Public Library, 901 N. Main St. from 2 to 5 p.m. on May 3. If you were at the Hutchinson Public Library on May 3, you should watch for symptoms of measles until the end of May 24.
