3. Hutchinson BOE Sets $109.5 Million Bond Election for April 2025

On Monday, the Hutchinson Board of Education approved an election for a proposed bond of $109.5 million. The money will go toward 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade attendance center, equity in elementary schools, and early learning. The board also discussed remodeling and selling buildings, and community-focused solutions for athletics. The anticipated bond vote date is set for April 1, 2025. At the next regularly scheduled meeting the board will adopt a resolution calling for the bond election and authorize the filing of an application with the State Board of Education.

4. Boeing Provides Spirit AeroSystems with $350 Million in Advance Payments

Spirit AeroSystems has entered into an agreement with Boeing, in which Boeing has committed to make advance payments to Spirit totaling up to $350 million. This funding is to support the production of Boeing products at the rates required by the aviation manufacturer. Boeing plans to make these payments to help Spirit manage its high levels of inventory and reduced operational cash flows. The payments aim to address a decrease in expected deliveries to Boeing, increased factory costs to maintain readiness, and the ongoing effects of the recent strike by Boeing employees.
